Something that most New Zealanders wouldn't think twice about has been filmed and gone viral overseas.

A sheep video shot in Gisborne and posted by a Canadian tourist has gone viral with nearly 28,000 shares.

During the past week, the video has garnered more than one million views and has been shared 27,900 times as of today.

Yup, a video of sheep went viral.....
