This is the moment a knife-wielding burglar crawls around a sleeping family’s bedroom trying to steal a mobile phone.

The family's night-vision camera caught the thief trying to snatch the phone while a woman slept in a nearby bed around 2:20am.

Speaking to CBS New York, the woman, who set up the camera to monitor her three children, said: ‘I was very scared.’

She said that her husband was the first to wake up, which caused the man to flee the house with a Samsung S6 phone, but added that she was glad no one in her family was hurt.
