A new doll that promises to help your baby sleep through the night is causing a frenzy amongst new parents.

Created by three Icelandic mums, the Lulla Doll is a soft gender-neutral doll.

They're about $71USD ($101 NZD) plus shipping (so, quite expensive!) but can you really put a price on a good nights sleep from your baby? The products are consistently selling out and are ending up on Ebay for three times the price!

It works as follows: Mums and dads are encouraged to allow the doll to absorb their smell before transferring them to the child. When the chest is pressed, it also plays a real-life recording and heartbeat of a mother at rest.

A stockist told the Daily Telegraph she has a waiting list that backs all the way up until September.

"They’re going out the door as fast as I can get them," she said.

New mum Rebecca Ilie said, “I wore the doll for a couple of days so it smelt like me, then we put it in his cot. His sleep was dramatically improved within days and by three weeks he was sleeping through the night".
