Kiwi makeup lovers have been dying for the cosmetic mega-chain Sephora to hit our shores.

And now it's looking good for the beauty lovers as Stuff is reporting that Sephora representatives have been looking for sites in Auckland.

Whilst they are yet to sign up for any lease, the favourite potential to be the new home of Sephora is said to be the old Max building on Queen Street.

A Sephora New Zealand spokeswoman, known only as Marry, said the company hoped to launch here soon. She would not comment on whether it was looking at sites in Auckland.

January 2016 saw Sephora open it's online store to New Zealand for the first time and Marry says it could be more than just the online aspect.

"We are working on expanding across the globe and as soon as we manage to get the necessary permits from your country, we will announce it [on] our website." Marry said.

A source told Stuff that Sephora is likely to be waiting on approval from head office to expand here.

The biggest clue that we could be getting a Sephora in NZ? The fact that Sephora New Zealand Limited has been reserved with the Companies Office.

The French chain, with 2300 stores in 33 countries, sells pretty much everything a beauty lover would want across a broad range of product categories, including skincare, make-up, fragrance, body and hair care.
