"They want to fight? Let's fight."

The Handmaid's Tale is back for season 5 and there looks to be an epic showdown after the cliffhanger from the season 4 finale.

In an Instagram post from the show, they announced that season 5 will premiere on September 14th in the US.

The synopsis for season 5 reads, "June faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada.

"Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power. June, Luke and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah."

Although there has been no official word on a release date for NZ, our besties at Neon had season 4 eps express from the US so we're sure they'll pull through again!

We're so pumped for season 5, and Aunt Lydia certainly seems excited too.
