Frankie Muniz would "never" let his child have a showbiz career

Frankie Muniz had an early 2000s chokehold. Now the 38-year-old former child star says he would never let his son be in the industry. 

Malcom in the Middle was a staple for childhoods after school watching.

It's star insists his experience of the industry was "100 per cent positive", but he knows it's not the case for everyone, and he wouldn't want his three-year-old son Mauz to go through the "ton of rejection".

He told PEDESTRIAN.TV "I would never let my kid go into the business."

Frankie was 14 when he first starred as Malcom, a six-year gig with a sprinkling of film appearances in between.

In 2002, Muniz appeared in Big Fat Liar alongside Amanda Bynes, and the following year it was Agent Cody Banks, co-starring Hilary Duff — both of which enjoyed box office success in the children's film sphere, and both of which sparked romance rumours between he and his megafamous co-stars.

Then, he seemingly vanished from the public eye, emerging years later with a bizarre admission: he doesn't remember a single thing from the role that made him famous.

Muniz has suffered, as he puts it "a fair amount" of transient ischemic attacks, or mini strokes, in his life, as well as several concussions.

After Malcolm, he worked as a professional race car driver, suffering some serious injuries behind the wheel, according to PEOPLE, but it is still unclear whether these injuries are connected to the memory loss.

"And not that I had a negative experience, because to be honest, my experience was 100 per cent positive. But I know so many people, friends that were close to me, that had such insanely negative experiences.

"And I just think it's an ugly world in general. I never cared about rejection, but there's a ton of rejection."

Frankie is primarily a NASCAR driver these days, but he does the odd acting gig.
