Ever wondered why News is called News?

You've probably never wondered this, but you can't deny it's actually quite an interesting thought. 

Why the f*ck is News called News?

There have been a few theories, like this guy who said that ‘news’ was actually an anagram for Notable Events, Weather and Sports.

It's not.

Others have said it is an acronym for North, East, West, South – this is also untrue.

It actually all started in the 14th century, when the English word ‘news’ developed as a special use of the plural form of ‘new’.

As the name implies, ‘news’ is associated with the presentation of new information.

Makes sense.
