Ed Sheeran hints at music hiatus after tour: “I’m ready for dad life”

While on stage in Glendale, Arizona for his LOOP Tour, the 35-year-old casually dropped a pretty big hint... he could be stepping away from music once the tour wraps in December.

“I might take some time off once this tour has ended and sort of do the dad thing,” he told the crowd. “So if I don’t see you for a while, I love you, thank you for coming.”

If you didn’t know, Ed shares two daughters Lyra (5) and Jupiter (4) with wife Cherry Seaborn, and it sounds like he’s keen to swap stadiums for full-time dad duties.

Tour life isn’t exactly family-friendly either, which is why Ed’s been making a huge effort to keep them close. Last year he even shut down rumours he was “moving to America,” explaining he was just bringing the fam along for the ride so he didn’t have to deal with brutal long-haul commutes.

“I’m not moving,” he said on IG at the time. “I’m going on tour with my family… don’t wanna commute from London to San Diego obvz.”

Honestly so fair.

No official break has been locked in yet but if this really is a “see you later” moment, we’re already not okay 😭
