Last year we brought you the list of the worst regions in NZ for STI's.

The results showed that the Lakes District (Rotorua, Taupo and surrounding areas) had the highest rate of chlamydia in NZ.

Tairawhiti (Gisborne and surrounding areas) had the highest Gonorrhoea rates in 2016.

But the latest results for the first half of 2017 show that both Lakes and Tairawhiti have cleaned up their acts somewhat.

Now, Wellington is not only the capital of New Zealand but they're now the capital of STIs as well...

The Wellington region has the highest rate of chlamydia of any DHB in New Zealand per 100,000 according to figures collated by the Institute of Environmental Science and Research.

The Canterbury District Health Board has the highest rate of gonorrhoea per 100,000.
